Job Description

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations. This role supports mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Diagnose equipment failures using schematics, blueprints, manuals, and testing devices
  • Support equipment startups, changeovers, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete work orders accurately using a CMMS and follow maintenance schedules
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and GMP/OSHA standards
  • Identify and recommend process and equipment improvements to reduce downtime
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Provide on-call or emergency support as required

Equipment & Systems Supported

  • Bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors
  • PLC-controlled equipment (basic troubleshooting preferred)
  • Electrical systems (480V/3-phase, control panels)
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Packaging, filling, molding, or assembly machinery (industry dependent)
  • Building systems (HVAC, compressed air, utilities)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred
  • 2-5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience a plus (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining skills preferred
  • Forklift, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety knowledge

Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Electrical or industrial maintenance certifications
  • HVAC, refrigeration, or wastewater licenses (facility-dependent)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • Work in industrial environments with noise, heat, and moving machinery
